We could learn a lot from the next 7 games.

After a steady start to the season (I know we desperately need the home form to pick up), we should learn a lot more about how good we are by the end of October. 6 out of our next 7 league games are against teams currently in the top 10. If we can get 10-12 points from them, I think we will have done really well but as I have already said, the home form will certainly need to improve.

I went for 10-12 points from this group of 7 games. 3 points today was the best possible start. Anybody else care to guess how many more we will get from the next 6?

As it stands, I'd say top 7 by the end of the month.

After a tough run of games, that would be a really good effort. Having said 10-12 points before the Orient game, I would now be hopeful of something nearer to 15. I'd certainly take that.

Top 10 at Christmas would also be good.

Having played 6 out of these 7 games, we have collected 10 points. A good effort so far. After the Luton game, we have a run of mid table and lower end teams to play. Consistency will be the key, especially at home and with a bit if luck, we could be in a good position at Christmas. I'm just happy to be looking at the top half of the league table each week!

We've played a third of the season and are in the playoff positions. There's reason to think Sheridan won't strengthen in the transfer window and that quite a few will leave. Collins and Laings loans are up too, although I would like to see Collins see the season out.
As long as the takeover is smooth , or if it fails Ray Trew doesn't radically cut spending just as things are coming together, I don't see any reason for this team to improve rather than tail off.
The question is will home form improve or away form tail off. All to play for .

Have to say it doesn't feel like a promotion season , Munto, Warnock, Allardyce and Sirrel/ Wilkinson seasons all felt more expectant ,perhaps I'm older and more cautious if not wiser and would settle for upper half stability, but in all fairness looking at the points we've dropped, we should be vying for third spot.
