Mark Cooper until the end I the season

According to BBC Nottingham Sport Twitter. I had £10 on him at 12-1 to be our next manager 10 weeks ago. I feel a bit miffed >:\/

Seriously though, a decent appointment and I can't help but wonder how different everything at the football club would have been if this decision had been made 10 weeks ago.

Colin Slater has just said that if Cooper meets an unspecified points target, he will get the job permanently. He also said that Ray Trew had informed prospective owners about his decision out of courtesy but this was all his decision.

Finally a sensible appointment, should have been made 12 matches ago.
I imagine the points total/contract was the carrot needed, otherwise why would Cooper take the job and out of the market?

Given the way he had Swindon playing, I'm finally looking forward to going to the next match!

Very happy with this appointment. Hopefully the club can start to unite and move forward, possibly with the help of a reduced ticket price for easter monday match to bring back some of the fans.

Jacob's fan column in the NEP got it spot on, talking about the relative lack of pressure Cooper's now under.

After Moniz he would have been expected to win most games to be seen as an improvement... Now he just needs to win a few and he'll be a hero! Hell, he'll be considered a hero just by making a team selection featuring Stanley Aborah!

Generally I'm happy though. He seems laid back, thoughtful and to actually have a basic clue of how to manage a football team... which is a start!

Apparently Stanley is the ream so that's an improvement.
