Out of the names who have been linked and aren't totally unrealistic, who would be your preferred choice? It's a tough call between Sheridan and Wilder for me and although I realise Wilder is probably less likely, he would just about get the nod from me. I'd be more than happy with Sheridan though.

Anyone want to add Jamie Fullarton?

Thought not.

I put £10 on Cooper at 6/1 and I still live in hope that we really won't make the hugely risky and illogical appointment of Fullarton. Hopefully, his involvement, if any, will be as part of the manager's back room staff.

A staggering appointment. I have backed Ray Trew from day one but this is a step too far. I will still be there to support the club, but my support for those who run it is at an end. So he interviewed well??? In my working life I have learned that those who talk well are usually the ones who struggle when it comes to the practical side. This will be far less popular than the appointment of Kiwomya, and I didn't think that would be possible!

While Fullarton may turn out to be a success, the way this appointment has been made is absolutely bizarre and for Ray Trew to imply that he doesn't believe the appointment is a gamble is quite unbelievable. We were told after the demise of Ricardo that we needed somebody with experience of the lower leagues and we end up appointing somebody whose CV so far only includes being a coach and managing an under 21 team. If this isn't a gamble then goodness knows what is. One thing's for sure: sitting 18th in League 2, now isn't the time to be taking such a gamble.

We can only hope that the Trews have finally got lucky and wait and see what Fullarton (who I actually feel sorry for) delivers. If this goes wrong, our proud title of the oldest league team in the world could really be under threat. How are others feeling now we have had a few hours to take in what is arguably the most staggering managerial appointment in the club's history?

This appointment left me feeling very low also. Totally with Elite about interviewing.

I cannot see how our experienced pros like Smith, Edwards, Stead & Aborah are going to react well to this nobody coming in and telling them all how to play.

I will give him a fair chance as he has only applied for a job and been successful. But if things go badly in the first few games all hell will break lose!

Where the appointment is just bonkers and I have now lost any ounce of backing for the Trews I do believe if he is to insist with untried managers then he has to give them a full season start to finish so that they can learn from their mistakes and make the tweaks to their squad.

I totally agree caj85. As long as he isn't as bad as Kiwomya was!
