Winter postponements

Seeing a lot of predictions for a very bad winter lately including snow as early October. One newspaper this morning has the headlines "Killer Winter on Way" and goes on to say that Britain is facing its' coldest season for 50 years. Presumably they're thinking of 1962/63 when between Boxing Day and 9th March Notts played just two games!!! Would be quite something if we saw a repeat of that.

At a guess, was the newspaper the Daily Express?

When they run out of things to say they tend to revert to one of the following:

HOTTEST SUMMER ON RECORD IS COMING!
HARSHEST WINTER ON RECORD IS COMING!
SO-AND-SO IN NEW CANCER SCARE!

The problem is that the frost covers we utilise are supposed to be effective to minus 8 degrees C or thereabouts, but even a couple of degrees below freezing has left the shaded Pavis side unplayable before. Saturday postponements will be costly because we lose at least 20% of the crowd if it's then played on a Tuesday.

If we have a fixture pile up like the last promotion from League 2, at least we will have a squad large enough to handle the fixtures.

I'm getting too old for brass monkeys at matches.

Seriously hope not! I struggle to make evening matches as I work out of Nottingham.
