Looking long term, it would be great to come out of this season with a core of good quality players that just needs 1 or 2 additions. Leaving those who didn't cut it to find somewhere else to play. This whole "give the team time to gel" thing is getting tiresome season after season.

It surely is, but then teams do need to get to know each other's strengths and styles' so it's a symptom of Notts' main problem: for years we haven't been able to find any kind of consistency.

Hopefully this season we'll get promoted, or close, and retain a manager from one season to the next, and build on a (comparatively) successful squad which won't need to 'gel' next season and will be able to 'kick on' instead.

Presumably that's why some are on 2 year contracts. You have to hope the manager lasts 2 years to bring a plan together. Back to the stability issue again.
