I expect after our weekend off shortly to start doing better. We will have had 10 games, I think including cup games, gotten over a few injuries hopefully and have a more settled 1st team. We need to improve and it will take time, just not hopefully to long.

I hope you're right! I feel a settled team is essential to success... We had it all through the 09/10 season but the chopping and changing has cost us dearly this season. I don't think Moniz's handling of the defensive line-up has helped at all... Why play people out of position when we've signed so many full-backs??

Yes, I agree, a settled 1st team is exactly what we need. A team that has a clear idea of how the manager wants them to play, individually and collectively. Plan A and Plan B all practiced and perfected. Set pieces nailed defensively and in attack. Overlapping wing backs, through the middle, route 1 whatever the game plans are, the whole team needs to know exactly what they're supposed to be doing in every circumstance according to Moniz' vision of how he wants his team to play. He appears to be failing to achieve this so far.

This time next week we will be 7 or 8 points adrift of the play-off's and probably even closer to the bottom 2, our next game being against fellow strugglers Luton, so the pressure will very much be on. I'd now predict with confidence that Notts won't look like serious play-off contenders this side of Christmas and that we'll be looking for yet another new manager before the January transfer window.

Longer term, we still might threaten to snatch 7th spot before this season ends but we won't go up. If the average gate falls to around 4,750 and the Chairman has to pump more money in to make up for the loss of gate income, where will that leave us?

This set up (Moniz and the squad) are definitely going to need longer than the average change of regime to settle in, that's a good point.

Moniz is also going to need to correctly assess the problems at each stage of development, and then find the right solutions if we are going to achieve the potential which I think it's obvious this side has.

It's my guess that he's going to have to successfully address his own weaknesses alongside those of the players. If he can do all of that before Christmas we'll do very well.

Are we sure this way of playing is gonna succeed in league 2, while it has looked impressive against villa and Huddersfield it sure as hell ain't setting this division alight, and we're still playing firm tracks at this time not boggy pitches when it ain't gonna suit at all. Maybe a change in playing style to try and get us out of this clogfest and if we go up resume trying to play nice football, it is still early days I know but 4-1 at morecambe sets alarm bells ringing matter how many games are gone.

Thanks goodness that we're not playing Crawley next week. Hopefully, the break (I know we've got the Stags in the Paint Pot trophy first) will give us chance to get over injuries and suspensions because one thing's for sure, we need to start fielding a much more settled side. We've had a huge influx of players from a variety of countries and we desperately need to start allowing some partnerships and understandings to form all over the pitch.

Just seen the lowlights on C5 and to be fair they were all good finishes and on another day it would have been us winning 4-1. Ok I will stop trying to polish turds!!!!
