Grant In Team Of The Week (14/8/17)

Grant In Team Of The Week (14/8/17)

Notts County are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Jorge Grant in the two nil victory over Chesterfield at the weekend at Meadow Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Grant was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Super sub Grant was introduced to the fray in 53rd minute of Notts County's clash with Chesterfield, and he swung the game in the Magpies' favour just seven minutes later. He added to his perfectly placed header in stoppage time, curling home a delightful free-kick to wrap up a 2-0 success.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Grant for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Alex Cairns (Fleetwood Town), Tommy Spurr (Preston North End), Jordan Forster (Cheltenham Town), Tim Ream (Fulham), Jake Jervis (Plymouth Argyle), Jorge Grant (Notts County), Andreas Bouchalakis (Nottingham Forest), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (Cardiff City), Abel Hernandez (Hull City), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United).

Manager - Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town).

Well deserved, his goal scoring ensured the win and the valuable maximum three points with two clever goals.Any player who comes off the bench and turns around a game with such impact will always get consideration for mini awards such as this.Well done, keep the goals coming.
