Medical & Science Shortlists Announced 2016/17

The Football Medical Association have now announced the shortlists for the Medical and Science Team of the Year for the season of 2016/17.

The FMA Awards Dinner takes place on Saturday May 27 during the FMA Conference and this will be the fourth event to be held by the group at the Radisson Blu East Midlands Hotel.

Each year the FMA present the FMA Medical and Science Team Award to a club in each tier of the Football League, including the National League and the Scottish League.

This years contenders for each division are as follows:

Premier League:

AFC Bournemouth
West Bromwich Albion


Brighton & Hove Albion

League One:

Scunthorpe United
Southend United
Sheffield United

League Two:

Luton Town
Plymouth Argyle
Notts County

The Awards are designed to commend those medical teams at clubs who have contributed to professional football in terms of injury prevention plans, treatment and management injured players and how the departments work together to achieve those aims.
