Edwards Returns To Meadow Lane

Edwards Returns To Meadow Lane

Mike Edwards has made the return to Meadow Lane and signed a short term deal today that sees him take up a duel role.

Our defender joins on as both a player but also our strength and conditioning coach, and whilst predominantly he has been brought in it seems for the coaching role, the playing side will be back up.

Having spent eight seasons with us, it was revealed a few weeks back that he had been training with us in recent weeks and even turned out for the Carlton Town friendly, but whilst initially it was only with a view to helping him find new employment, the news that Lee Taylor would be leaving the club this week to pursue a new opportunity has led to a change in plans.

Therefore the 34 year old has signed a short term deal primarily to replace Taylor as strength and conditioning coach, but obviously if needed he will still do a job in the first team also.

Edwards has been handed the No 28 shirt for the season.
