'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Two More Join County

Notts County have confirmed the signings of both Gary Jones and youngster Adam Dawson today.

Jones, who has been training with us, has signed a one year deal and brings a bagful of experience to the side and he comes to us having impressed, but also been the skipper of his last two sides.

The 37 year old has taken in well over 600 Football League games so should be a huge asset to our youngsters especially on and off the pitch, let alone the drive he will bring to midfield.

He has been handed the No 13 shirt for the year and is contention to now make his competitive club debut as we open the season at Deepdale against Preston North End this weekend.

Youngster Adam Dawson has been training with us as well over the summer so far, and manager Shaun Derry has reached agreement with Leicester City for us to have his services initially on a one month emergency loan basis.

The midfielder has also joined in time to potentially make his competitive club debut this weekend.

Having come through Liverpool and then Bury's Academy systems, he signed his first professional deal with Wigan Athletic and he tasted Football League life firstly in a loan spell with Accrington Stanley, before then taking in further loan spells at non league level with sides like Bacup Borough, FC United of Manchester, Barrow and Nelson.

After trialing with Leicester he then joined them, and renewed his contract this summer, so he'll be hoping to make an impression with us now.

The 21 year old has been given the No 25 shirt.
