Mullins - No More Great Escapes
Summer signing Hayden Mullins has said he's hoping to play his part in turning around our fortunes next season, because he doesn't want to be involved in another relegation battle because of the pressure it puts on players and puts on the games themselves.
Speaking to the Official Site whilst he was proud of our achievements last season given how it looked at one point, he wants to draw a line under that now and help County kick on up the league.
'The pressure heading into the games was huge and I remember going into games here knowing that you have to win to get anywhere close to getting out of the bottom four. Pressures like that is what you don't need as players, you want to be able to go out there and play your game and win football matches. We managed to get out of it and it's something that we don't want to repeat again.'
Mullins goes on to say that consistency is key for us going into the next campaign, and he believes with the squad we have, and the additions that have been made so far, mean that really we 'can achieve as much as we want to achieve' in 2014-15, because manager Shaun Derry has made the plan very clear for the coming year.
'I think that if we play to our potential then we can be in the top half of the table.'
A good mid table/top half finish would certainly be the progress we all want to see after the last season, and if we really can put the foundation in place and achieve that then we can look for good growth the following season and maybe even a push for the play offs in the coming years.
