Despite a fantastic four one victory, manager Shaun Derry has talked of his frustration because he knows the players are capable of that, so why can't they perform like that every week.
A brace from Hollis, with further goals from Murray and Liddle gave us the much needed victory and despite still being bottom we are now again within a few games of moving out of the relegation zone, if we can put a run of victories together.
Speaking to the press following the game, Derry admitted that he was aware that some will talk about his somewhat muted celebrations to all of our goals, but as he watched them going in all he could think was why they don't produce that on the pitch more often, because he knows they are more than capable of being that clinical and playing that way.
'It was a tetchy opening for the first 20 minutes and the magnitude of the game was there for all to see, but we managed to settle ourselves down and the scoreline obviously suggests we were the better team by far. People will look at my reactions and say 'he should be celebrating' but it just frustrates me when I know what these players are capable of.'
Derry goes on to say that this is what he's been seeing in training day in day out, and this is why he talked before of knowing they are better than our results suggest and talking about them having to believe in themselves because he does.
'It frustrates me when I see a second half performance like that and you just wonder why we just couldn't be consistent.'
Consistency is the key word moving forward now and Derry knows it will only count for something if we back it up with a win over Crewe, as although a draw would at least be the start of an unbeaten run for us again, with so few games left in reality, and being adrift on points at the bottom, only wins count in reality.
Eight matches left, five points adrift of 20th place Tranmere. Draws now really are as useful as losses.
