'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Spencer Delighted With Bow

New signing Jimmy Spencer has said his debut for Notts County against Coventry couldn't have gone any better as he put in a sterling performance and got himself on the score sheet.

After scoring the second goal of the day in our three nil victory this weekend, Spencer went on to pick up the Man of the Match award given his overall contribution to the victory, and people picked out the strikers hold up play and energy as a reason behind the award.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, he explained.

'It's a great feeling, I've said to myself I'm going to give 100% and try to score as many goals as I can. I've given 100% and scored a goal so what more can I ask for? I was happy with my overall performance but I've got to thank the lads for that, they were helping me by putting good balls in.'

Spencer goes on to say that ultimately finding the back of the net is what he's here for, and it's his job, so scoring and backing that up with an overall performance was the perfect way to start life at Meadow Lane, and hopefully it'll be the first of many for the 22 year old and he works towards earning a long term contract with us.
