'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Derry Delighted With Passionate Display

Manager Shaun Derry has said he was delighted with the spirit of the side to have come from behind to secure all three points in the game against Sheffield United.

The game actually saw our biggest home crowd of the season so far, and Derry believes the players more than showed a committed performance for the fans again, especially the passion they showed to come back into the match.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game after goals from Enoch Showunmi and Mark Fotheringham gave us back to back victories, the gaffer explained.

'That's the best win we've had since we've come in, the way we responded after letting ourselves down in the first five minutes and the way we really stuck to it in the last 10 minutes when it was backs against the wall. You don't get that fighting spirit overnight, you get that through time and we've managed to implement what our beliefs are in the two and a half months that we've been here. Slowly but surely we're getting there.'

Derry goes on to say that obviously we are no where near the finished product and exactly where he wants us to be by any stretch of the imagination, but the signs are good, the players are taking things on board but now we have to cut out the mistakes to give us an even greater chance in games.

Slowly but surely we are also pulling ourselves up the league which can be another source of confidence for the players as we head further into 2014.
