Put Port Vale Behind Us

Manager Shaun Derry has said that the side simply need to put the Port Vale loss behind them and carry on kicking on as we have done in recent times.

Speaking to the Official Site following the two one defeat on Boxing Day, the gaffer said he couldn't be too disappointed and nobody would be dwelling on it because it's just a case of now we need to get ourselves on another run and not let this derail us.

'We need to make sure that everybody recovers right ready for Crawley away and it's onto the next challenge. The Christmas period is unrelenting and it's unforgiving as well. You can't get too down and disappointed when you've lost and you can't get high and mighty when you've won.'

Derry's message is simple, just keep doing what we've been doing as the run of seven points from three games has been a fantastic return and certainly made an impact on the table which we needed.

Always looking for the positives though, Derry was delighted with the manner in which we lost this game, which he's talked about before, and the players kept battling and fighting and trying to find their way back into the game, but of course he was disappointed to lose nontheless but but four players missing he was also pleased to see other players come in and step up and give their all and he picks out Ronan Murray for particular praise, especially given he found the net again.

Crawley tomorrow and hopefully a return to unbeaten ways to we keep gaining on those ahead of us.
