Kiwomya - We Should've Won In Normal Time
Manager Chris Kiwomya has said he felt we should've beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers in normal time in our recent game.
Notts County booked their place in the Area Quarter Finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek with a penalty shoot out victory over Wolves at The Molyneux, but speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained that he felt we had enough of the game and enough good chances to have not needed the lottery of the penalty shoot out - although clearly it added to the atmosphere on the night.
In fact he goes so far as to say that we could've had the game won in the first 45 minutes, and he was disappointed that we weren't at least a goal to the good when the half time break came.
'We kept going at it playing football the right way, and I'm very pleased with the performance of all the boys that came into the team. They were fantastic and worked hard for each other.'
The obvious disappointment is that we weren't clinical enough again which is something that has dogged the club all campaign so far, but it's still something we are working on and again another win, even via a penalty shoot out, is going to help relax nerves and boost confidence and obviously that's now back to back wins in all competitions which everybody should be pleased about.
Kiwomya knows now though that with performances turning for us, and confidence seeping back we simply must just keep this run going now and remain unbeaten at the very least for as a long as we possibly can so we can build on it and in the league alone keep edging ourselves away from the bottom of the table and put a decent buffer between us and those in the relegation spots.
Will he be looking forward to the Swindon game, I bet he is!
The JPT draw takes place this Saturday and we will then find out our opponents for the next round.
